Technical Presentation – TS Isaac’s Effects on the Loxahatchee River

What:  Technical Presentation – TS Isaac’s Effects on the Loxahatchee River
Who:  Bud Howard, Direction of Water Resources, Loxahatchee River District
When: Wednesday, Jan. 23rd – Noon to 1 pm
Where:  Vista Center, 2300 North Jog Road –  1st Floor Meeting Room, West Palm Beach (Map)
Details:  In August 2012, Tropical Storm Isaac passed just to the south of Palm Beach County dumping record rainfall — nearly 18 inches in the western part of Palm Beach County — flooding large sections of Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee.  Flood control efforts resulted in huge volumes of water entering the Loxahatchee River and Lake Worth Lagoon.  The Loxahatchee River District conducted extensive water quality monitoring in the Loxahatchee River throughout the event.  The data provides a wealth of new information on how water quality, oysters and seagrass respond to a wide range of flow conditions.
