Thank you to everyone who participated in the July 28, Palm Beach County reef cleanup dives, aboard Jupiter Dive Center, Narcosis and Splashdown Dive Charters. This was the first year of a pilot program in cooperation with PBC Reef Rescue, Florida Fish & Wildlife and FDEP. It included Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin Counties during the month of July. Next year the plan is to include more dive charter boats as the program continues to grow.
Data regarding distribution and type of debris collected is now being complied to help focus efforts on future reef cleanup sites. Results will be published on the Florida SEAFAN website. If you participated, you will receive that information as well as updates via the email address you registered at the cleanup event.
